Should you follow your passion?

Should you follow your passion?

I take on a lot of crazy adventures. Usually when I tell people about what I am doing next, their expression lands somewhere between bewilderment and complete indifference. It can be easy to think that people don’t care about the things that you are into and that what you do doesn’t matter to anyone else. That is almost never true. I can’t be positive whether or not following your passion will ever pay off from an economical standpoint. Some “successful” people say that it is all that matters and yet there are some that find it to be irresponsible at best. Truthfully, I think it’s probably a matter of timing mixed with a little dumb luck. What I can tell you, is that it is never a waste of time.

You will inspire people solely for the fact that you are doing what you love. Not just because you are conquering goals and ticking things off your list but because when someone is truly in love with the process, that shit is contagious. Even if what you are doing doesn’t pan out by societies made up standards, if you are happy, you’ve won right? Like, that’s all that matters at the end of the day. All of society’s made up standards like money, power and attainment are only sought after because they produce more happiness right? Why not shortcut the whole fucking equation and go right for happy? You at least owe it to yourself to see if you can maximize your one shot at life with the things that really set your soul on fire.

So nay-sayers be damned, you’ve got to go for it. You have to find the things in this life that you are truly passionate about and see them through. Fight like hell for what you love and lay it all out on the line every chance you get. You never know who you will be inspiring and you’ll never convince me that the world doesn’t need more of that. Hell, we could all use a little more inspiration and passion.
