Know your "why"

Being great in life, in fitness, in whatever you choose, is not about finding a single goal and hammering it into the ground. While I recognize that is certainly part of it, realistically that is just a small part of it. Accomplishing goals is great but you know what’s better? Crushing the long run. Slogging miles day in and day out. Looking the grind straight in the face and asking it if that’s all it has. Waking up before your alarm clock fueled with passion and ready to fight for what you want. While that may sound a bit esoteric and very much part of a poster you would see HR hanging in their office, it is something that you can have. And quite honestly, something you should want.

In order to get it you have to know your “why.” Figuring out purpose is an exhausting undertaking to say the least but every bit worth it. When your goals are in line with your purpose you reach a flow state that can’t be stopped. Your decisions become easier and you begin to appreciate the process. The dreaded “grind” becomes your reason to get out of bed.

You also must be careful not to align yourself with someone else’s purpose. In the long run, it won’t resonate with you and you will fall out of love… hopefully sooner than later. So for all of you out their in LuaVíve nation, let this serve as your Thursday reminder to #KeepSearching.
