Define & Conquer

Define & Conquer

When I set out to find a tag line for LuaVíve, I went through just under two million different versions before finding the right one. I knew what I wanted to say and represent but I just couldn’t figure out how to get it all out in way that was quick and witty enough. Finally, like a light switch suddenly turning on in a dark room, I knew what I wanted. Define & Conquer. Quick, efficient and to the point. It represents the lifestyle I imagined. A life built around figuring out exactly what you want and striving for it tirelessly until it is yours. I selfishly thought that I would be the poster child for that lifestyle. Now I know, humbly, I was only the beginning. The torch now belongs to people like Roman, the owner of Hybrid Beach CrossFit in Chesapeake, Va.

This week on LionHeart Radio, I had the opportunity to sit down with Roman and I was blown away with his story of sheer will power, not to mention his ability to come out of an extremely adverse situation with his goals unchanged and his hunger only deeper. At what point would you stop chasing your dreams? Would you consider throwing in the towel when your car was hit on the freeway in a head on collision, leaving you in a medically induced coma and in need of over 10 surgeries? When no one had any idea if you would ever be able to maintain life on your own, let alone walk, talk and hold a job?

Now imagine that your dreams were based around coaching others to a fitter lifestyle but simple motor patterns not only hurt but were extremely difficult for you to accomplish. Roman answered the call and then some. In only a year and a half he is spending every single day going after the life that he wants. After spending only a short time with him, odds be damned, you know he will get where he is headed. I don’t want to spoil the entire story here because I know there is no way that I will do it the justice it deserves. Tune into episode 18 of LionHeart Radio and here motivation straight from the source. We can all be better humans by taking a page out of Roman’s book and I am proud of the opportunity to bring his story to light.
